Ahmet Kadri RizeliKemençe, Percussion, Voice
Ahmet Kadri Rizeli was born in Istanbul.
He took lessons in violin and classical Turkish music
with Sadi Hosses, kanun and music theory
with Necden Varol.
1972-1981 studied at Istanbul Conservatory:
Kemençe with Kemran Erdoğdu;
Ottoman music theory with Yavuz Özüstün;
European Music Theory with Demirhan Altuğ.
He then became assistent to
Kemran Erdoğdu at
Istanbul Conservatory.
Since 1981 is a soloist and choir director
with «Turkish Radio & Television».
Between 1981 and 1983 he also was a soloist
with the orchestra of the University of Istanbul.
He performs worldwide
and participated in
numerous CD-productions.
He is director of the Golden Horn Ensemble
and, since 1989, a member
of Ensemble Sarband.
He also works as a producer and
musical advisor for Turkish classical music.
He lives and works at Istanbul.
